CROSSROADS KIDS AT HOME
Join us for a virtual hangout at 9:30am on Sunday mornings with our wonderful team of volunteers! We’d love to spend time with old and new families alike. Contact Caleb at caleb@cbclife.org for our Google Meet meeting details.
Crossroads kids in-person
While we do not have a separate kids church at this time, we encourage young families to worship together at our in-person service at 11am. Please see Caleb for a box of quiet activities (coloring pages and Wikki Stix) for your children to attend to while they sit in the service.
While we have not reopened our kids church in-person, we expect to offer childcare soon. Stay tuned for more details!
Meet Mr. Caleb, Children’s Ministry Director
Hi! My name is Caleb Kang, and I currently serve Crossroads as the Children’s Ministry Director. I’ve been in the Bay Area since 2014, when I began undergrad at UC Berkeley for a BA in Public Health. I have over 10+ years experience in children’s ministry with my church back home in Los Angeles, and I’ve also worked at a preschool for 2 years. Currently, I am taking a few gap years before I apply to medical school, in the meantime investing into the relationships around me while I still can! In my free time I love to check out new ice cream spots, read fantasy novels, and watch anime with my housemates.
It is my hope and prayer that children will experience God’s love through their families and loved ones during the pandemic season.
Feel free to email me at caleb@cbclife.org with any questions, concerns and/or ideas. As we head into a post-COVID era, I’d love to partner alongside you to build our children’s ministry together.
Crossroads Kids
Purpose Statement and Core Values
Our Purpose Statement
Partnering with parents to help children discover and follow Jesus for a lifetime. (Mark 10:14)
Our Core Values
Each child is a gift from God. (Psalm 127:3-5)
Children should be kept safe. (Luke 17:2)
All children deserve to be treated with dignity. (Matthew 7:12)
As is true for all humankind, a child’s greatest need is for a Savior. (Romans: 3:23, 6:23)
Children can grow in grace and use their spiritual gifts for the glory of God. (2 Peter 3:18; 1 Corinthians 12:1-11)
Combined Nursery and Preschool
It is our desire for your baby to feel God’s presence through our tender care, loving attention and safe environment. At CBC, we offer the following nursery care:
Nursery for Infants (birth to walking)
We minister to our infants by tending to their needs in the most loving, nurturing way. This includes cuddling, rocking, changing diapers, feeding, and following any specific instructions from the parents (e.g., a special blankie, stuffed animal or pacifier, perhaps?). This is the beginning of a child’s experience of the love of Jesus at the most basic level.
Preschool 1 for Toddlers
When our babies reach the toddler stage, we begin to introduce God’s attributes by playing age-appropriate Christian music, reading short Bible stories, praying over the morning’s snack and singing songs.
Parents are welcome and encouraged to spend time in the Nursery/Preschool 1 class with their child(ren), until both the parents and their child(ren) feel completely comfortable with the separation. It is our intention that parents feel completely safe and comfortable entrusting us with their precious babies, so that they (the parents), too, may be able to have quality worship and fellowship with the family of God.
Pre-Kinder thru Elementary
Our preschool and elementary programs provide age-appropriate, interactive learning experiences and multiple learning styles. This ensures that we reach every child in his/her learning style.
Our staff of teachers and parent-helpers model God’s love through the implementation of:
Lessons from God’s Word
Bible songs that encourage interactive worship
Memory verses to “hide in their hearts”
Age-appropriate activities that help children apply biblical truths to their lives
.
Club 45 (4th & 5th graders)
Our 4th/5th-grade class is specifically designed to reach the pre-teen mindset. It is geared toward preparing 4th- and 5th-graders for our Junior High Ministry. Because today’s pre-teens are incredibly influenced by media, the Club 45 curriculum is media-driven and interactive in nature and seeks to equip “45ers” with tools to help them apply God’s principles to their daily lives.
